Patricia is a PhD student in Civil Engineering at University of Toronto. She received her HBSc in cell and molecular biology, health and disease, and with a minor in statistics University of Toronto in 2025. 

Her research is focused on the intersection of indoor microbiology and indoor air quality, broadly evaluating how intervention technologies such as portable air cleaners, biocide paints, and far-UVC light can enhance occupant health and be implemented in built environments to minimize pathogen exposure.

She was previously part of an indoor air quality project optimizing machine learning models to estimate classroom ventilation and filtration rates. She is currently working on a project incorporating advanced molecular tools to estimate airborne fungal concentrations from HVAC and portable air cleaner filters.
