Residential, commercial, institutional and industrial buildings require heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in order to provide a comfortable and healthy living and working environment. This course is designed to explore the fundamentals of HVAC systems including the thermal comfort and air quality needs of the occupants; the heat gains and losses to and from the building and the resulting heating and cooling loads; and the HVAC equipment and control strategies used to meet the loads.
