David earned his PhD from Virginia Tech University in 2025, specializing in collecting and characterizing antibiotic resistance genes in air near farms, and testing indoor air cleaning technologies to determine their effectiveness in removing bacteria from the air. His current research interests are in controlling and characterizing aerosolized pathogens and bacteria indoors.
